Practitioners

Dr. Allan Atlas spoke to the ADA as Clinical Associate Professor, Co-Director of Restorative Dentistry Clinics and Director of Implant Dentistry, Department of Preventative and Restorative Sciences, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Atlas highlights his extensive work in dental research at the University.

 

Dr. DezBaa Damon spoke to the ADA as a staff dentist at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) Dental Clinic in Bethel, Alaska. Dr. Damon, in her second year at the Clinic since graduating from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, reflects on her work that includes seeing a number of emergency patients as well as travelling to local Alaskan villages.



Dr. Eugene Brooks spoke to the ADA as Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry, Director of Dental Post-Baccalaureate Program, University of Colorado, School of Dentistry, Aurora, Colorado. Dr. Brooks highlights a typical day of instructing dental students, supervising clinic sessions as well as maintaining a faculty practice.

 

Dr. Ray Lindner spoke to the ADA as the Dental Director, Southside Community Health Services, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Lindner reflects on his work overseeing a community clinic serving a very diverse patient population as well as operating a mobile health van. 

 

Dr. Bob Russell spoke to the ADA as State Dental Director, Iowa Department of Public Health, Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Russell shares some of the many roles, issues and collaborations involved in directing a state department of public health as well as the opportunities in public health dentistry. 

 

Dental Students

Jonathan Miller spoke to the ADA while enrolled as a first-year dental student at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan.



Bijal Shah spoke to the ADA while enrolled as a second-year dental student at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, Illinois.

 

Jamie Royal spoke to the ADA while enrolled as a third-year dental student at University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 

Sonia Karamchandani spoke to the ADA shortly after graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.  Dr. Karamchandani went on to continue her education in an AEGD program at the University of Florida-St. Petersburg. She reflects on a typical day during her time as a 4th year student.
