Dentists sought for EBD conference March 26-27

By Jennifer Garvin The ADA is looking for dentists interested in spreading the word about evidence-based dentistry to attend the EBD Champions Conference March 26-27, 2010, at ADA Headquarters.
The deadline for applications is Jan. 30, 2010, in order to be considered for the third and final installment of this conference, which is sponsored by the ADA and the Journal of Evidence-Based Dental Practice and supported by an educational grant from Procter & Gamble.
There will also be a hands-on, pre-conference workshop offered on March 25 to help those participants who want to gain practical experience in looking for evidence online. The conference is open to dentists, both from practice and academic backgrounds, with leadership skills and who are interested in promoting EBD to their dental and medical colleagues, peers and decision-makers.
"This is the final year of the EBD Champion Conference. The first two years were very successful in identifying local clinical and academic leaders to help promote and implement the scientific principles and merits of EBD, and to support the timely transfer of clinically relevant knowledge amongst their peers and colleagues," said Dr. Daniel Meyer, senior vice president, ADA Science/Professional Affairs. "This conference will be equally as dynamic and informative. Ultimately, those attending the conference will help lead, promote and advance quality oral health care for the patients we serve in our respective practices, health care settings and communities."
During the past two years, participants have raved about the EBD Conference in written evaluations.

The event is a unique opportunity for dentists to become resources to their local dental communities by promoting an evidence-based approach to patient treatment and disease prevention.
